Tattered scraps of darkness
Dancing to Night’s song
Their nightime dancing ageless
In the moonlight, they belong
The moon their snow-white goddess
She lights their sky-wide throng
To their dance: a silent witness
Forever, they go on

What’s the difference between
Everywhere and nowhere?
A lot of stuff in the world is a giant pattern.
All matter is made up of atoms,
Which are made up of tiny particles
Revolving around a central mass.
Planets have moons revolving around them.
Solar systems are a group of objects
Revolving around a central mass.
Galaxies are solar systems
Revolving around a central mass.
Who knows if this pattern goes on and on forever,
And some giant organisms live in a place
Where all matter is made up of galaxies,
Or that atoms are really tiny solar systems?

The wolf runs close to midnight
A woman astride his back
He runs like a ghost in the moonlight
The night forest all but black
He flits through ancient dark trees
His breath the only sound
Trees stand like silent sentries
Paws whisper across the ground
The woman murmurs in her dreams
Shouts ringing in her ears
Sleep soured by dremt of screams
Though nothing the wolf can hear

One last look
A seaman takes
At the jagged, rocky shore
‘Till over him
The ocean breaks
To silence him forevermore

A raven carries the night on his back
As he flutters; black on black
The specter utters one harsh cry
Through the darkness, does he fly
As you take your dying breath,
Does he bring about your death?
Is he a red-eyed demon’s slave,
Ferrying souls down to the grave?
And as toward he does soar.
Does he whisper
Nevermore?
Or is the raven mearly a bird,
Never to utter
Ever a word
